Lynnfield Moms Group Member Guidelines
WELCOME TO LMG
We absolutely want our members to be involved and contribute their many talents in order to make this as positive an experience as possible. We firmly believe that you take out of this what you put into it and welcome ideas from all our members. Our club is thriving because so many of our members are becoming actively involved, and we applaud you! The more people who are willing to get involved, the more dynamic and interesting our group will become. Below are some guidelines to ensure that LMG members have a great experience with our group.
LMG NON-SOLICITATION POLICY
One of the great things about our organization and communities is the advice, suggestions and resources we all share with one another. This is a beautiful thing and part of the strength of our group.
We do not allow regular advertising on the members-only email loop or Facebook page, and we reserve the right to remove any member who violates this policy. Sharing news of a local free lecture or event of another non-profit organization or community activity or event is generally fine, but posting about your business’s sales/specials, your events requiring a fee, “free talks” which promote a for profit business, will result in members being warned and then removed from our communities.
We do not allow the use of our FB page, LMG events, or meetings as a marketing tool to promote for profit businesses. A big reason why we take this stand on Solicitation is to prevent our group from becoming a mass marketing campaign. There are other groups out there who were started for this purpose – to look like an education/support group but whose intention is really to promote a specific business or practice. LMG is not that. LMG was started by moms as a source of support and community and we continue to be authentically run by moms without another agenda. Our non-solicitation policy is about the integrity of our community and not compromising it for anyone else’s gain. We also do not allow solicitation of donations for individual fundraising.
Members who have at-home businesses can advertise their business in our monthly newsletter or on our website. Please see our Sponsorship information section on the LMG Website for further details. At times, LMG shares promotions and deals from our paid sponsors on both our website and Facebook page and appreciate the many opportunities that our sponsorships provide for our members.
RSVP POLICY
We love planning events for you and your kids to enjoy, and it helps us greatly when you RSVP! It tells us who is interested in the event, who can or cannot make it, and who would like to do it again. The organizers will make every effort to post events in a timely manner so that everyone has sufficient time to RSVP. The organizers and hosts need to know who will be attending so we can plan/book the event accordingly. We understand things come up like illness, etc., but should you need to cancel, please try and update your reply by the night before. Your RSVPs, whether it’s a "yes", "no", or "maybe" are important and appreciated.
SICK POLICY
As mothers, we all know how difficult it can be when our children are sick. As members of LMG, we want to do everything we can to ensure that all of our children remain as healthy as possible. Therefore we ask that you follow these guidelines:
Please do NOT attend any LMG function if you or your child/children has or had ONE of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:
- Severe cough (that is not related to asthma or allergies)
- Vomiting
- Extreme lethargy
- Sore throat
- Diarrhea or upset stomach
- Unusual spots or rashes
- Runny nose not associated with allergies
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye) – with or without discharge
- Fever
- Any infections in which you started an antibiotic within 24 hours or less
